National Science Day Celebration 2025 (January 15 – February 28, 2025) Organized by: Sant Guru Ghasidas Government P.G. College, Kurud Supported by: Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology and NCSTC, DST, Government of India Sant Guru Ghasidas Government P.G. College, Kurud, successfully hosted a vibrant and enriching celebration of National Science Day 2025, spanning from January 15 to February 28, 2025. The event series was aimed at cultivating scientific awareness, innovation, and critical thinking among students. Under the able leadership of Principal Dr. A.K. Mishra and the coordination of Dr. Hit Narayan Tandan and Dr. Vikram Singh, the celebration witnessed enthusiastic student participation and a range of engaging science-focused activities. Key Highlights: Science Quiz Competition (January 31, 2025) With participation from over 130 students across Chhattisgarh, the competition tested scientific aptitude and knowledge. Winners: • First Place: Mr. Dageshwar Sahu (B.Sc. III, Biology Group) • Second Place: Mr. Vipul Soni (M.Sc. Zoology, IV Semester) • Third Place: Mr. Nikhil Patel “Waste to Wealth” Model Exhibition & Documentary Screening (February 25, 2025) The event highlighted sustainable innovation and eco-conscious creativity. Winners: • First Place: Mr. Dipendra Kumar (B.Sc. II Year) – Water Purification Model, underscoring clean water solutions. • Second Place: Ms. Archita Rathi (M.Sc. Chemistry, IV Semester) – Table Lamp using Waste Batteries, promoting renewable energy concepts. • Third Place: Ms. Radhika Dhruv (M.Sc., IV Semester) – for her creative and resource-efficient model. Poster and Rangoli Competitions (February 27–28, 2025) Centered around the legacy of Sir C.V. Raman and his contributions to science. Winners (Poster/Model): • First Place: Mr. Dipendra Kumar – Water Purification Model • Second Place: Ms. Archita Rathi – Table Lamp using Waste Batteries • Third Place: Ms. Radhika Dhruw (M.Sc. Botany) One-Day Seminar (February 28, 2025) A grand finale to the month-long celebration, the seminar featured distinguished speakers such as: • Prof. Dr. M.L. Naik • Dr. R.P. Mishra They delivered thought-provoking sessions on biodiversity conservation, biotechnology, and scientific innovation, inspiring students to explore new frontiers in science. This comprehensive celebration truly embodied the spirit of National Science Day, commemorating the groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman, and succeeded in nurturing a spirit of inquiry, creativity, and scientific excellence among young minds.
